Restore Dental Function with Porcelain Dental Crowns
If you have a tooth damaged by trauma or decay, a dental crown can restore strength and aesthetics to your smile. This restoration is designed to cover the entire visible structure of a compromised tooth for added protection and improved dental function. Dr. Steven Ray can place porcelain dental crowns at his Little Rock, AR, practice, for long-lasting, natural-looking results. Each crown is custom-made at our trusted dental laboratory to blend seamlessly with the shape and shade of your smile.
Am I a Candidate?
You may be a candidate for a dental crown if you have:
- A large cavity
- A tooth that is broken, chipped, or cracked
- Have undergone root canal therapy
- Intrinsic dental discoloration
A dental crown can also be used in conjunction with a dental implant to replace a single missing tooth, or combined with pontics (artificial teeth) to form a dental bridge.
In addition to enabling patients to eat, speak, and smile with confidence, porcelain dental crowns can:
- Reinforce the strength of a weakened tooth
- Preserve your natural tooth
- Complete your smile
- Provide long-lasting, durable results
- Fit precisely and comfortably in your bite
What Is the Process?
After establishing your candidacy for treatment, Dr. Ray can administer a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. He can then remove any damaged tissue and reshape the enamel of of your tooth to make room for your crown.
We can then take impressions of your teeth and gums, which will be sent to our trusted dental laboratory and used in fabrication. Typically, it takes approximately two weeks to manufacture your custom crown. In the interim, we can place a temporary crown to assist with dental function.
Each crown is custom-made at our trusted dental laboratory to blend seamlessly with the shape and shade of your smile.
Once your crown is ready, Dr. Ray can ensure it fits comfortably and allows for proper occlusion. If no modifications are needed, we can secure your crown in place, revealing a beautiful, complete smile.
