Plus, with his knowledge of your family’s medical history and predispositions, he can more adequately plan for long-term maintenance. At Ray Dental, he and his team provide a full range of pediatric services, including routine cleanings and exams, sealants, mouth guards, and more. Dr. Ray also offers care for adults of all ages, including dental restorations that can be particularly beneficial for seniors.

How Can Family Dentistry Benefit You?

We know that life gets busy. One of the biggest advantages of our family dentistry services is that you and your loved ones can all be seen in one convenient location. Many times, we can even schedule consecutive visits for you and your children so you do not have to make repeat trips to our office.

An even bigger benefit is that our comprehensive services allow us to provide more accurate care. By treating multiple generations, we will be able to understand any of the dental conditions that may run in your family. Furthermore, we will begin treating your child at a young age, and we can maintain consistent care throughout his or her life. This allows us to be familiar with his or her dental history as well as the treatments that have worked in the past.

Caring Pediatric Dentistry for Your Little Ones

Sometimes, people assume that dental care is simply not as important for children as it is for adults; however, this is not the case. Kids are just as susceptible to cavities as grown-ups. In turn, childhood dental decay can lead to a lifetime of oral health problems. That is why Dr. Ray places such an emphasis on preventive dentistry for children. Regular exams and cleanings are essential, starting around six months of age, or when your child's first tooth erupts.  During regular visits, your hygienist can remove the plaque and tartar responsible for cavities. We can also begin to teach your child about appropriate dental hygiene.

We also offer additional treatments such as fluoride treatments. These supplements can strengthen developing dental enamel. This hard outer layer of tissue creates a barrier to prevent bacteria from attacking the soft, porous levels of teeth. Sealants are also an effective way to protect permanent molars. Applied as a liquid, the clear material will harden over the chewing surfaces and prevent bacteria and food from building up in the crevices. If your child grinds his or her teeth, we can also provide a mouth guard. This comfortable device can prevent a lifelong struggle with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, jaw pain, and related problems.

Specialized Services for All Ages

Of course, as a family dental practice, we offer a broad array of treatments. Adults can benefit from our cosmetic services, including porcelain veneers and teeth whitening. These enhancements will not only augment your smile, they could also improve your self-confidence and quality of life. Finally, we offer complete restorative dentistry services, including state-of-the-art dental implants. Because your risk for tooth loss increases as you age, these restorations can be especially beneficial for seniors. We understand the unique health concerns of older patients and can adapt our care accordingly.
